Last Summer I was contacted by Julie & Eric, who were relocating to Colorado from Chicago for Eric's job. They were empty nesters, but still wanted a decent sized home so they would have plenty of room when their kids came to visit.
They were initially looking in Longmont, but eventually fell in love with the small town charm of Erie. (I can't really blame them since Erie has been my home for 15 years and I love where I live!)
Eric & Julie really loved the newer home developments that Erie had to offer and decided they wanted to be in Collier's Hill, with its amazing views, miles of trails, and a fantastic clubhouse.
We looked at several new construction homes by a few different builders, but new construction has it's pros & cons. One of the biggest negatives with new construction is the added expense of getting new appliances, back yard landscaping, and blinds. Plus building from dirt can take 9-10 months before it's completed and Eric & Julie didn't have that kind of time.
This is where resale homes can be a great option. We found a newer resale home (built in 2015) that checked off almost all of their requirements. It was in pristine condition, had tons of upgrades and it felt like a brand new home.
Sally was great to work with and provided much needed advice on the area, neighborhoods, builders, and ultimately showed us our dream home. Many thanks Sally!!
Eric and Julie are all settled into their new home and love living in beautiful Colorado!
